Cabinet Sales Decrease -1.2% in October 2016
RESTON, VA . . . The November 30, 2016 Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s monthly Trend of Business Survey reports cabinet sales for October 2016 slipped -1.2 percent compared to sales for October 2015. Stock cabinet sales increased slightly +0.5 percent; semi-custom sales decreased -1.7 percent and custom sales decreased -5.6 percent.
The year-to-date sales show an increase of +4.6 percent overall with stock sales up +3.7 percent, semi-custom sales up +5.7 percent, and custom sales up +4.4 percent.
Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 70 percent of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. KCMA is the major trade association for manufacturers of kitchen cabinets, bath vanities, and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. All major U.S. cabinet manufacturing companies belong to KCMA. Sixty-three percent of KCMA cabinet manufacturer members report sales under $10 million annually, reflecting the importance of small manufacturers in the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for over forty years.
