Reaffirmation of the ANSI/KCMA A161.1 standard

KCMA has initiated the reaffirmation process for the ANSI/KCMA A161.1-2022 Performance and Construction Standard for Kitchen and Vanity Cabinets.  In accordance with the procedures set by ANSI, KCMA has sent out a pre-canvass interest survey to those who participated in the development and revision of the 2022 KCMA A161.1 standard.  The canvass consists of three interest groups: users, producers, and general interest members.  No one group may comprise more than ½ of the canvass and KCMA will strive to have 1/3 representation for each group to maintain balance.  The 2027 draft KCMA A161.1 standard will go out to the full canvass for review and comment the third quarter of 2026.  Once the canvass has completed its work, the standard will go out for public review and comment, and the canvass will need to address any comments received.  If you are interested in participating on the canvass or have any questions, please contact Chuck Arnold.
