Our Committees

Government & Regulatory Affairs Committee

Develops and monitors priority legislative and regulatory issues for KCMA; develops strategy to respond to issues; and develops policy recommendations for Board approval.  Committee reviews KCMA submissions to regulatory and legislative bodies on issues of interest.

Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) Committee

Develops and administers all aspects of KCMA Environmental Stewardship Program, coordinates program with Marketing, Standards and Government & Regulatory Affairs Committees where there might be overlap or technical support needed.  Committee reviews requirements for the KCMA Environmental Stewardship Program cabinet certification.

Standards Committee

Administers the KCMA Standards and Certification Program, including the KCMA/ANSI A161.1 Quality Certification review of the standards, oversees publication of material related to the cabinet certification program, and follows up on complaints. The committee maintains liaisons with The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other government agencies to promote certified cabinets to government specifiers, works with the Army and Navy in specifying cabinets for military housing and with The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to encourage use of voluntary standards as opposed to mandated standards. The committee also reviews standards for materials used by cabinet manufacturers (i.e. Hardwood Plywood Veneer Association, Composite Panel Association and Woodworking Machinery standards). 

Communications Committee

Promotes membership and associate membership in KCMA, develops and oversees association services to assure that they are relevant and useful, promotes awareness of the KCMA testing and cabinet certification program, promotes the KCMA Environmental Stewardship Program both internally and externally including supervision of activities of PR agency, oversees the KCMA newsletter and blog, develops cabinet industry marketing and management information surveys, oversees association publications and advertising and assists in planning educational programs and seminars.

Associates Committee

Supports the activities of the association and increases interaction and exchange between supplier members and cabinet manufacturers. This committee consists of representatives among the KCMA supplier members.

Emerging Leaders Council

Strives to provide the tools necessary for the next generation of kitchen cabinet manufacturer and supplier leaders to enhance their business and industry knowledge, further their careers and discuss issues relevant to the future of the cabinet industry.
